ROGERS ECKERSLEY DESIGN, RED
RED is a Manhattan-based, multidisciplinary graphic design firm. Whether creating a website or brand identity, coffee table book or book of matches, we always begin with the search for a compelling idea. With a strong emphasis on imagination, and the experience to lead a wide array of projects, we can successfully address just about any challenge. Our work has appeared in several publications including Graphics Today, New Masters of Poster Design, New Vintage Type, Baseline, IdeaNet, Computer Arts Projects, AIGA Design Annual, and Step Inside Design.
Stuart Rogers, co-founder
Stuart has over 10 years of diverse experience in the design field. He was previously Senior Designer at Modem Media, San Francisco, where he collaborated on websites for companies like Nike, Gymboree and Bank of America. After receiving his MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts, where he met RED co-founder, Sam Eckersley, he took on projects for the New York Public Library and New York's bid for the 2012 Olympics. Before founding RED, he worked at Russell Design Associates, leading projects ranging from annual reports to identities. When not at work, he's probably hanging out with his wife and son in Brooklyn (or watching the Red Sox.)
Sam Eckersley, co-founder
Sam’s career in graphic design began in Chicago as Art Director at The Townsend Agency, followed by Senior Designer of Twist Inc., a San Francisco design firm focused on branding and marketing. While completing the School of Visual Arts MFA Design program (where he met Stuart), Sam worked for Milton Glaser Inc. and the National Football League, where his work included the campaign for the 2003 NFL Kickoff event. As a designer at SpotCo, New York, from 2003-2006, Sam developed campaigns for Broadway shows and other high-profile entertainment. Sam is presently teaching Advanced Design for the School of Visual Arts Continuing Education program. He lives in Brooklyn (but likes the Cubs.)
Jane Huschka, designer
Jane would rather be watching the Jayhawks (rock chalk!). Between her graduation from the University of Kansas with a BFA in Design and her arrival at RED in February 2007, Jane freelanced for Basic Books Group, Maryjane Fahey Design, Lise Anderson Logan of Lilo Studio and SpotCo. She has been recognized by the Kansas City AIGA for Excellence in poster, book jacket and publication design, received several gold OMNI awards and has had work published in the Print Regional Design Annual and Applied Arts Design Annual.
